Focus on Gardening

This week, I’ve felt tired and recognised the need to rejuvenate, so I retreated to the garden–my sanctuary. It gives me space to breathe, to restore my energy and reconnect with myself.
Leaning into this detachment and embracing my garden means I’ve let go of the pressure to achieve business-related goals. Instead I’ve chosen to co-create with the best business partner any entrepreneur could have: nature.
The lessons I need to learn, or re-learn, are all to be found outside in my garden. To embrace the seasons. To be patient and allow growth to unfold without rushing. To prepare for transformation, even when the next phase has yet to reveal itself. To stay grounded and to savour the beauty right in front of me.
The garden calls me because it provides the very conditions I need to feel nourished and to flourish. Immersed in its glorious colours, inspiration and beauty, I find perspective, clarity and calm. It helps me navigate what’s yet to come and reminds me to embrace the present treasuring all the time I have. The garden grounds me in the truth that now is all I truly have.
Transformation, whether in life or business, isn’t about forcing outcomes or racing ahead. It is about creating the conditions for growth and allowing what's meant to unfold to do so in its own time.
I remind myself of the first step in my own Focus on Why Framework:
Step 1: Control the controllables: while navigating life's challenges, gracefully accept and liberate myself from what I can't control to take control of what I can!
Whatever it is you might need to liberate yourself from right now, perhaps your garden is calling you too.
Focus on Gardening. Focus on Why!
REFLECTION WITH ACTION: What space in your life could you turn into a sanctuary to restore, reflect and allow growth to unfold naturally?
