About the event
What’s the book about?
Unsurprisingly, it's all about purpose and a Focus on Why, but this is a personal development book with a difference as I have co-authored it with my grandfather who died in 1996.
How is that even possible?
After my grandmother died in 2022, amongst her possessions I discovered a handwritten commonplace scrapbook containing my grandfather's innermost thoughts, insights and reflections that he’d kept as a prisoner of war in Germany for five years in World War Two.
Weaving his extraordinary story in between my nine-step framework my book will guide you on a transformative journey of self-discovery. Together, our writings beautifully demonstrate how even when you’re physically imprisoned you can still be mentally liberated to create a purposeful way of life.
As this is a collaborative book with my late grandfather who served in WW2, I chose the Victory Services Club as the book launch venue as it's a dedicated space which commemorates and honours the courage and sacrifice of all service personnel and pays tribute to fallen comrades.
